PCE 2020 Speakers Review - Professor Edward Kosior

The SPE: A-NZ Section is proud to announce that Professor Edward Kosior, CEO, Nextek UK and Australia will present on Monday morning (16th of November) session from 7.30 pm to 8.00 pm at the SPE A-NZ Annual Conference.


Presentation – Real Design for Recycling

Professor Edward Kosior is the Managing Director of Nextek.  His expertise is based on 23 years as an academic and 14 years working in the recycling industry, mainly for plastics packaging.  Edward Kosior founded Nextek in 2004 providing consultant services and fostering the development of strategic approaches to sustainable packaging, waste reduction, minimal life cycle impact, and circular economies.


Edward Kosior was previously the Associate Professor of Polymer Engineering and Director of the Polymer Technology Centre at RMIT University until 1997 and then joined Visy Industries where he was involved in post-consumer plastics recycling operations.  After leaving Visy, he has developed novel processes and designed plants for recycling post-consumer PET, HDPE, PP and LDPE bags in Europe and gained approval from the U.S. FDA for several processes used in food contact applications.


Edward Kosior is a Fellow of the Society of Plastics Engineers. Ed has a B App. Sci. (App. Chem.), M. Eng. Sci, Dip. Ed.
