Additive Manufacturing

Updated: Feb 19, 2019

Additive manufacturing (AM) is a technology that arose from rapid prototyping. This technology (AM) is revolutionising our existing way of manufacturing. AM is part of the fourth industrial revolution that we are currently experiencing in the areas cyber-physical systems. This Society of Plastic Engineers technical seminar organised at RMIT University is aimed to cover a wide range of topics from both global and Australian perspectives and how additive manufacturing is changing the way industries will operate in near and distant future.

Our speakers will share their knowledge on how this state-of-the-art technology would benefit various stakeholders in industries and the job opportunities this technology has the potential to create. The seminar is followed by a facility tour where the users can physically see how this cutting-edge technology has spearheaded into various industries including aerospace, automotive, biomedical, consumer, defence, manufacturing and textile industries.
