About the event

This is the second of our three-part series about Microplastics; the first held on 5 April 2022 (causes ‘definition’ and characterisation of Microplastics).

Never before has the plastics industry and society seen responsibility integral to solving the plastics waste and microplastics problem. Join us again to listen and discuss with experts from the sectors of Recycling, Environmental Science and Waste Recovery.

About the Microplastics series

The industrial  miracle of plastics dawned in the mid 20th century. Plastics   helped to solve many problems for us, however, in recent years, we have read,   seen and experienced many issues related to plastics pollution in the media   and elsewhere. Now a proposed draft is in preparation by the United Nations  for a Treaty on Plastic Pollution by 2024; one contributing pollutant is   Microplastics.

We all know  that even long after a plastic articles’ initial functional purpose is finished,   there can be quite a persistent pollution presence in the environment on land, in the sea and air.

Tuesdays   6:00 pm – 8:15 pm

Episode   1: 5 April - What are   Microplastics – and why we should care!

Episode   2:  16 August - Microplastics,   users’ responsibilities.

Episode   3:  18 October - Microplastics,   are you responsible?

All plastics professionals should stay informed and up-to-date on this critical subject.
