About the event

Everyone will agree that it has been a tough economic climate for the Australian Plastics Industry in 2023.

Inflation, interest rate hikes, spiking energy costs and various international tensions, have all contributed to market volatility and uncertainty for the industry. The Ukraine-Russia war and now the Israel-Hamas war are also contributing to geopolitical and economic uncertainty.

In our recent Plastics and the Circular Economy conference in Melbourne, there was much discussion on support needed for the Australian Plastics industry to have a viable future and, in particular, to achieve the aspirations for a plastics circular economy. To a very large extent, this is about economics and the levers needed to ensure longer term success.

So, what should we expect as 2024 approaches, and who can guide us?

For stakeholders in the plastics industry, we invite you to attend our annual Economic Outlook breakfast featuring keynote speaker Alan Oster, Chief Economist of the National Australia Bank.

This seminar will cover the Economic Outlook for 2024, in which Alan will share insights from his wealth of knowledge and understanding.
